Our Team

Cesar has been building things since before he could walk. As a child, he grew up helping his dad out on construction projects and eventually helped him build their home in Mexico, in a small West Coast town, in the state of Chiapas. During his teenage years, he developed a passion for using his hands to create and build solutions to problems that a dredging company was having, working alongside engineers and architects. This experience became the inspiration for becoming the builder that he is today. Driven to find the right solutions that fit the unique needs of his clients.From the age of 23, Cesar began a small welding company, welding together decorative gates and windows, and grilling units for the local restaurants. Soon, his projects grew to repairing commercial fishing boats and structural work for huge commercial buildings. At age 30, he stepped away from welding and closed his business to pursue opportunities otherwise unavailable in Mexico at the time, eventually settling in Portland, Oregon. Within a year, Cesar was remodeling bathrooms with a well-known outfit in the metropolitan area. Ten years later, the company had a hard time letting their best installer go, but Cesar had a larger vision in mind, to build his own company. 

In 2019, with the support of his business partner and spouse, Sherry, the company began growing a name for itself. During its first 5 years, both Sherry and Cesar turned out at each project to ensure top quality work and attention to detail. For them,  it was important that their families had a great experience and that no questions or concerns went unaddressed because the husband and wife team speak construction from morning to night. With over 25 years of experience remodeling homes, they are no longer a one-man show and have added a team of qualified individuals who possess the same philosophy and standards to ensure that each project chosen is completed as if it were their own.

Sherry joined the team in 2019, after a much needed break from a nursing career that started in the US Air Force in 1998, and just before the pandemic reared its head. Sherry started out in the field, learning quickly and was soon performing skilled trade work alongside Cesar. Recognized for her meticulous work laying tile, she was soon asked to install on every tile project. Sherry has since moved into a supporting staff role where she could care for both family and business needs while helping to ensure the continued success of Metamorphosis. 

With four teenagers in home and her ex-military nursing career, Sherry brings attention to detail, safety, compliance, integrity, organization, teamwork, and communication skills to the table. They are regularly checking in with one another regarding the families they serve and the unique nature of each home project. “I enjoy addressing the individualized needs of each family, whether that is to improve functionality, appearance, or adapt to changing needs, like adding space for a growing family, or creating accessible spaces for aging-in-place. I feel fortunate to have a background in service work as a nurse, as I feel like we provide a much needed service to families in a similar way. I feel that Metamorphosis has a great responsibility, and we take our work seriously. We focus on the family, because we understand that our work impacts the family’s everyday lives. We are creating healthier environments, adapting to changing needs, and enhancing safety as we create beautiful new spaces for our families to enjoy for a lifetime,  where they can connect and thrive.” Come find out what they can do for yours.
